Tube concentrations ranged from 0% to 100% crude oil (w/ some aggregate matter/grit/dirt), the latter having the consistency of sludge. This specimen was discovered on the surface of one of four 100% crude concentration tubes. No other visible photosynthetic or fungal growth was detected anywhere else throughout the tube. Attempts to clone the specimen or recover spores were unsuccessful. Collected for the Amazon Mycorenewal Project. -- Mirrored on iNaturalist as observation 131540602 on August 20, 2022.
