- Growing in a marshy area near creek, a on last year's stalks of a tall plant (photo), somewhat like nettle. Plant stems are about 12 mm thick. Spores 14.5 - 17 x 4-4.5. The species is distinguished by ridged pseudothecia with prominent ostiole, microscopy is just right too.
