- Sequenced; Cap 6 cm. stipe 12 cm. Oak/hickory/other deciduous trees habitat. Kuo describes the volva of Amanita fulva as fitting loosely around stipe. This one was so loose it fell off during handling, but it slipped right back on. I thought perhaps that I did not dig deeply enough in the soil to remove the entire base. Other features described by Kuo do fit this particular specimen I found.
