- HABITAT road-cut on very steep north slope; SUBSTRATE sheer smooth north face of granitic bedrock; ASPECT mostly shaded; NOTES smooth waxy yellow-tan thallus, K~ dingy C- KC+ gold (at least on epihymenium) P- UV- 350nm UV~y? 370nm, apothecia lecanorine flexuous crowded, disk convex to flexuous pale yellowish-tan, rim thick prominent thalline smooth shiny becoming flush, epihymenium with abundant golden-brown POL+ granules clearing in K, hymenium hyaline not inspersed or only at top, hypothecium hyaline, amphithecium with discontinuous algae POL-, cortex POL+ not clearing in K ~30-40 m at side to 100+um below; SPORES 8 per ascus, oblong, hyaline, simple, smooth, ~13-15 x 4 m.
