HABITAT base of north face of large noncalcareous outcrop; SUBSTRATE rock; ASPECT shaded; NOTES thick chalky creamy rimose thallus, K+y/o C- KC+rose/red UV~ pale yellow in lower medulla 350nm, apothecia often not present but abundant when present, rim thick thalline even smooth, disk pinkish to gray abundantly pruinose, epihymenium and aphithecium POL+ small crystals/granules clearing in K; SPORES ~10-12 x 6-7 m.
